Impressions about plant

First grow since third grade and I'm closer to 60 now. I had an Aerogarden Farm XL that hasn't been used in a year or two and I finally said "Let's try growing some weed". So I set it up and went about preparing a closet and purchasing a ton of shit, and figuring out exactly what to grow.

I had some seeds literally rolling around in my loose change bin that came out of some medical flower I purchased from a dispensary (Curaleaf, FYI) about 8-9 months ago. I had/have no idea what kinds of seeds those are but I wanted to try them. Still, I wanted to try growing high quality flower so I bought some seeds from HG and waited what seemed like forever for them to come.

I had just bought a tent, it's 3ft by 2ft and only 53" high--tiny. I got a 4" inline fan exhaust with carbon filter and a couple of other cheap fans for inside and out. I got that tent for the purpose of putting the aerogarden inside it, figuring I'd have extra room to spread out.

While I was waiting for delivery of premium seeds, I thought I'd experiment with the old shitty seeds I got from Curaleaf and I sprouted those. A couple of days later my new, awesome seeds showed up and then I had a conundrum. I wanted to grow the good shit in the aerogarden and I had no idea what the old seeds might produce but they all sprouted fast and I had 4 nice looking little bastard plants growing in solo cups within a few days. I'll get back to those and try to create a separate diary because they're very cool and interesting plants, at least to me.

I spent a few days and nights reading and watching videos from Kyle here on HG and many, many others on Youtube who are also fun to watch and pretty informative. I like to cook and experiment in the kitchen and the way I learn to do things with food is to look at several different recipes and methods to get the result I'm looking for and then combining what I think are the best combination of recipe parts, incredients, and techniquise that I think make the most sense. So that's how I'm approaching this project as well.

That means I get to have fun experimenting with different things and making a lot of mistakes which will only make me so much better the next time I try this. It also means I inadvertantly end up torturing some plants in the quest for knowledge and stronger plants. Hopefully I end up with some good flower at the end of the first try, too. Spoiler alert: not too shabby looking so far, 10 weeks in.

I purchased 2 strains of fast flowering seeds and I received 2 strains of autoflower seeds as a free gift (thanks HG). Sprouted them and planted in the Aerogarden on 7/25. I'm following the limited instructions on an "aeroweed" website and using their nutrient schedule with General Hydroponics nutes. I change the water out weekly with fresh nutrient water. In the last several weeks I have been having to replace as much as 1.5 gallons of water before the weekly update because it is consuming what seems like an amazing amount. I didn't spring for the Cal-Mag at first.

Anyways, this diary is late blooming but I hope to share the story of this White Widow autoflower, born in July. She's been through a lot of stress, and by my reckoning, more than most autoflowers should, but she sure has taught me a lot so far.

What you see above is the White Widow Autoflower that I received as a free gift seed with my purchase of fast flower seeds.
