Impressions about plant
She is looking good this morning 1/8/2023 maybe a little droopy from the wet new soil but not completely waterlogged. 1/8/23 before lights out I cover/topped with "Build-a-soil" 1/4 cup ground-up "Gnarly Barley" and "Build-a-soil" 1/4 cup of "Clover Cover Crop" loosely mixed in with finger-tips and lightly covered with a handful of peatmoss.
This morning 1/9/2023 her color is still good but, the peatmoss is nearly dry (note to self ... order a wetting agent maybe) yet the soil under the peatmoss is wet. The peatmoss topping is very thin basically just enough to cover the Clover Cover Crop seed in hopes of avoiding topping off/evaporation.
I tipped the fabric bag and felt between the bag and the AC Infinity self-irrigation base and was happy to find that the bottom of the bag is wet / damp. At this time, I am not certain it is from the base or if the moisture from the soil has made its way to the bottom of the bag in which case as the soil and bag air dry it will help aid in the wicking action from the fibers resting in the reservoir base (as advertised).
She is getting bushy with some branching (approx 2 inch) at the nodes ... I'll get pictures in the morning.
I'm not sure what is in store yet being a first-time grower and so many opinions which are all accepted and appreciated. At the moment my focus is to just do my best to keep her healthy and let her follow her own path, while I learn from her and the whole experience ... So exciting !!
