Impressions about plant
This my first ever grow. I'm three of four on my germed seeds. I dropped one moving from towels to pods. I think the one that has not survived is my dropped seed. Bummer.
Today is day 11 from the time seeds were placed in the 42mm peat pods (Feb 19). Week one was insane and now we're settling in on week two. On day 7, I finally quit taking readings and freaking out every few hours. Now I check on the plants three to four times a day -- to alter whatever needed.
Today I can see third set of real leaves coming. Roots are poking out of the pods so I have to plant today. Although there was some reaching the first few days, I finally found a good set up of dome + light 350 PAR (all my light readings are in PAR, with iPhone app with diffuser on iPhone) at 50% 24 inches above canopy (not dome lid). They quit reaching. In addition, I needed the light farther away as it was getting way too hot in the dome at 16 inches and 25% light. Using veg light right now, no flower on the seedling light. Temps in dome 80 +- 2, RH 75-80, sometimes the RH drops and I need to spray walls of dome. Spraying plants about twice a day or when I see the outer screen on the pods and top peat dry. Wondering why the leaves are a little yellow -- too much water or light? No nutes at this point. When they go into their final homes they will have FFHF well in FFOF soil.
Going into Veg Stage now -- can't figure out how to change the stage level.
During week one, I kept copious notes -- that I can scan into week one in a few days. I was taking readings every few hours, making myself a nervous wreck.
Now I'm nervous about RH in the big room. I'm having a hard time keeping it above 60% -- so I may have to do some plastic sheeting to assist in keep moisture around the plants in their bigger pots -- until I have a full grow going at which point I think pots/plants and space will finally start to settle . The room is so big right now for just three plants.
March 1 planted pods into final cloth containers -- as I was seeing some yellowing of leaves and the roots were poking out of the pods. The new challenge is humidity on the babies. I'm only able to get my room to about 45% RH, so I'm thinking glasses over the plants so they have more humidity.
