Started these on 12/12 light at the beginning of March and they are really starting to bloom now with a couple of pistils turning red.

Impressions about plant

This is my first journal entry, pretty stoked. I'm partially doing these as a way to pass on my research and plant methodology to my friend after I move this summer to a place where I won't legally be allowed to grow.

This mochalope has been a fantastic plant and a really strong grower. I've made a couple of clones to preserve it's genetics because of how amazing this one has turned out. The smell is fantastic and really cleans the air in the room and doesn't have any sort of overwhelming scent. I am excited to use it to make chocolate edibles which will go great with the terpene profile of this plant. I also mix blackstrap molasses into its water supply which gives it a sweeter smoke.

When this plant started really hitting it off in the veg stage, I topped it with intentions to main line but notice how strongly the lower nodes where coming in and decided against it. Instead, I trimmed all but 6 nodes and started a mix of LST/HST.

Once the branches started thickening, I gave it the ole chiropractic treatment and worked on the branches to create those nutrient highway knuckles.

The method I use for the bending and breaking of branches to create knuckles is a little bit more intense than other methods popular today. I twist the target branch back and forth, picking up speed until the leaves look like the blur of blades on a helicopter and the skin becomes raw and flexible. I then bend the node back and forth with the same vigor. Once the node is in its raw and weakend state, I bend it down and secure it to create that nice tabletop shape. What this method does, compared to other methods I've seen, is creates an enlongated knuckle of greater length, instead of the short knot caused by other methods. It also allows you to twist the plant when shaping it instead of only being able to bend it. Since I only currently have a closet to grow in, the control I'm given over the shape of the plant with this method is paramount.

I am also doing an experiment on some nodes I took off to make clones that were already in the flowering stage to see what their growth and return to a vegatative state looks like.
