Dear Homegrown Diaries,

What a crazy week, did manage to throw the little guys into one gallon pots though before too much more time goes by. WIth limited stores near me, an ACE hardware was the ONLY place to get soil last moment for these little seedlings. I do NOT like buying soil that sits outside in a busy uncontrolled "garden center" which brought me inside. The soil outside could be infested with pest I don't want to bring home with me. Inside soil was Miracle Grow ( NO NO NO NO NO NO) and Mother Earth Small Bags in their Terracraft and Groundswell brands.Never used them, but I was desperate...so I got one small bag of each. I could have planted them into a Subcool Supersoil I have mixed but I knew it was way to nutrient hot for these little seedlings. I moistened the soil and layered it, with the "Groundswell" on the bottom half and the "Terracraft" on the top surrounding the seedling. I didn't have any other reason for this setup other than the "Terracraft" looked and felt better IMO so it felt right. About a week in their new shoes they don't seem to mind . Now to break down how each one has been growing.


GG4 #2 or "L" as I call her is named after "Lone Watty" one of the breeders of GG4, ( she started out smaller, Lone was smaller than Ross) She did not take being smaller for long though. Shortly after posting my last entry she exploded, although she stands 4 inches above the soil there's probably 3 inches below the soil. She stretched HARD and fast, putting her below the soil was a hope to keep her from needing support and prevent any wilting. She did need help with removal of the seed, which is why I think the one leaf is a little smaller than the others. She is still stretching too, hopefully that stops soon because I am not a fan of stretching, its hard to manage and control. Other than the stretch and seed removal, she's super happy and needing just a little more water than her sister. Under 24 hours light until she moves to 18/6 in the next week! Maybe a little sleep can get her closer to her sisters growth, overall very excited to see how both grow though! Stay tuned for more updates!!!
