Lemon Pie is a three-way cross that comprises the genetics of two incredible legends along with one mysterious unknown cultivar. Its effects are mostly cerebral but are complemented by full-bodied relaxation.
First of the two known parents is Skunk #1. This variety, introduced back in the 70s, has parented numerous Skunk hybrids. It’s the result of a convergence of landraces including Afghani, Acapulco Gold and Colombian Gold. It has a pungent skunky smell (hence its name) and the ability to deliver a remarkably energizing, cerebral buzz.
As if the lineage of Skunk #1 is not enough, the other known parent is Amnesia Haze, a plant that has Thai, Afghani, Hawaiian, Jamaican, South Asian, Cambodian and the illustrious Haze in its genes. Boasting a tangy citrusy aroma and the ability to induce an uplifting, high-energy mental buzz, it also won an award in the 2004 Cannabis Cup.
Although the third parent is unknown, the chances are high that it’s either an Indica landrace or a mostly-Indica hybrid. Lemon Pie itself is a very well-balanced cultivar – hence its excellent ability to send tokers soaring before bringing them back down to earth in a state of utter bliss.
Lemon Pie is most commonly found in feminized seed form. But Homegrown Cannabis Co. are delighted to offer regular seeds that provide a 50/50 male to female ratio. This brings a number of benefits since breeders can use them to create new hybrids, and it’s only through regular seeds that home growers are able to cultivate plants that are near identical to the original mother plant. It’s an integral part of keeping the lineage alive.
Lemon Pie regular seeds from Homegrown Cannabis Co. are very reliable and have a high success rate of germination. After the tap roots appear, you can move the seedlings to their new home – either organic soil or a hydroponics setup.
The whole process is pretty straightforward since this cultivar is quite easy to cultivate, and beginner-friendly. Apart from regular maintenance and ensuring that the temperature, humidity and soil or nutrient solution pH are all within the optimal range, the grow journey is a walk in the park. However – if you’re growing for consumption, you’ll need to keep an eye on the plants when the pre-flowers appear and separate out the males. After 9 to 10 weeks of flowering, up to 1.63 ounces per square meter can be harvested.
If you decide to grow Lemon Pie outdoors, pick a spot with adequate sunshine. In the northern hemisphere, harvest time falls in the second to third week of October, and each plant has the potential to produce up to 21 ounces.
Lemon Pie has a pungent citrus aroma that blends with the classic Haze scent of earth and pine. There’s also a sweet twist that makes it a delightful after-dinner toke.
From the onset, and lasting for two to three hours, Lemon Pie keeps the mind and the body buzzing with energy and vigor. The euphoric cerebral high is profoundly intense but not overbearing. It creates an upbeat feeling and demeanor that’ll make you want to stay active.
One of its best traits is its ability to inspire creative thinking. In this regard, it’s likely one of the best cultivars for individuals embarking on projects that require new, innovative approaches. Musicians, writers, artists and composers love it.
Even when the physical effects start to creep in, the relaxation that ensues doesn’t cause laziness or lethargy. Instead, the body buzz perfectly complements the cerebral effect and prevents things from becoming too off the wall. Some have even reported this cultivar’s aphrodisiac qualities.
Lemon Pie contains a high amount of THC, and it can be quite easy to overindulge. This is best avoided because it can cause anxiety or paranoia. As long as the doses are kept small, the most likely discomfort tends to be the usual cottonmouth and dry eyes that tokers have come to expect.
Lemon Pie has such excellent traits that several breeders have attempted to recreate the original version. With these regular seeds from Homegrown Cannabis Co., you can get about as close as it’s possible to be to the legendary ancestral specimen first introduced two decades ago.
It’s quite simple to grow, but bear in mind that with regular seeds it’s important to seek out and separate the males if you intend to harvest buds for consumption. Once that’s done, the grow journey should be as easy as (Lemon) Pie… and the results are definitely worth the effort.
